Just reading the title might ring alarm bells with the feminist mindset of the modern world but the aim is not to brag about how manhood is being misinterpreted. Neither is the purpose to glorify the man who happens to be the prime stakeholder in today's milieu. The idea is rather to send forth a message to have faith in creation of the Divine who has had the most superior wisdom to create the whole human race through one man and one woman, and the thought that woman is an equally significant half of the man.
A man taking the lead role is because of the responsibility he has to fulfill by virtue of the strength he has been bestowed upon. A woman too is never on the back seat; rather her role as home-maker is far more superior to that of a man who is to toil and drudge as a bread-winner. Role of these two beings is as different as their make-up and either of the two can never perform the other's role if their positions could ever be switched. Here's what we call them perfect beings for their respective jobs. But the questions are: Can women and men take eachothers' place? Can both live independent of eachother? And above all, in all fairness, do the harbingers of women rights really work for the rights of women or serve some other agenda?
Unfortunately the feminist mindset on the go has been piling up data on atrocities inflicted upon women but their predominant target has been the whole race of men. And more unfortunate is the case where a man's role in society is considered diminished through a well thought out agenda of marginalising him altogether. And a certain clique of men adjoins it upon itself to comply to the agenda for absurd reasons. The bitter truth is that transgression is done by either of the genders and targeting only men for allegedly causing affliction of women is not justifiable.
A proposition based on man's physical strength giving rise to his savagery is also uncalled for. If not every woman is treated badly in the society today then why all men are blamed for the bad done by few of them? Throwing everyone in the same catergory is somehow unfair. Not everyone is of the same mindset. Unfortunately women in our society think that these are men because of whom their rights are infringed, their honour befouled and their prgress stymied. Where in essence all men don't necessarily have to have a misogynist mindset. It is a dilemma faced by us as a society. We have to see if we could confront it together, irrespective of our gender.
It is said, “being a male is a matter of birth, being a man is a matter of age but being a gentleman is a matter of choice”. Based on this we have to ascertain whether all our male human beings, who have to age into men somehow in their lifetime, can be called gentlemen. That would require a wholesome effort by men and women alike to let the society remain peaceful, and allow lesser room for disgruntled men and of course women too. The ills of our society are to be eradicated through the combined wisdom of these two irremissible halves since societal problems can only be solved by the ones who have to face the backlash.
Why man is targeted seems to be an outcome of removing the curtain between genders in a modern society which in turn is contingent upon the corporate sector for its survival. Through a well articulated game-plan men and women are dragged into a quagmire to fight over things which hardly merit fighting over. In essence it is a wrong mindset coupled with bad upbringing, social and financial problems, and a weakening family system which has given rise to misunderstandings on both sides. By carefully understanding the root causes, we can fight the menace of this turf-war over rights and help both men and women live at peace. Then perhaps we would figure out if men are really evil.◾
