Happy Now Am I...

As he slipped the ring onto her ring finger she, who was looking at the ring with curiosity up until then, now looked up and started thinking, "Is it really happening? Am I going to meet the man of my life for good? Am I that lucky to have heavens smile upon me this soon? I can't believe it happened..."
She was still engrossed in these thoughts that he passed her a smile without separating his lips and she came back to the present moment. It was only after she had seated with him on the couch that he held her hand and asked her, almost murmuring, "Where were you lost while I was putting the ring on your finger?"
This time she smiled, leaned on his shoulder and said gently, "I was thinking of luck."
"What luck?", he asked.
To this, still staying there, she said, "I thought of how easy it must seem to the whole world as I am betrothed to you today. How convenient would they think it was to find you and then marry you. How lucky would they think you are to see me becoming your lady. But what they won't ever understand is how much I have yearned for you. What they won't get is how silently I have cried in those nights when I asked the heavens for you. What they won't comprehend is how diligently I have kept a record of all your words that you said and wrote for me. They must think we are two lucky people coming closer together forever, but they won't be able to know our journey; they won't ever."
She raised her head and he held her hand tighter, saying, "How do you feel now when I am forever yours?"
She replied with her eyes full of tears of joy, "Happy now am I..."
